National Geographic Live comes to Vancouver's historic Orpheum theatre

    National Geographic Live, National Geographic’s touring speaker series, and Vancouver Civic Theatres returns for the 2019-20 with its unique, educational speakers that will bring 3 more of National Geographic’s most dynamic and entertaining explorers to the Orpheum theatre in Vancouver, BC.

    Join us for the 2019-20 season as we journey to the water’s edge, then high above the tree tops, and into the wild seas with National Geographic explorers and photographers. Come hear behind the scenes stories of their adventures and connect with explorers through Q&A and book signings!


    October 8, 2019 – Standing at the Water’s Edge – Cristina Mittermeier
    In Canadian explorer Cristina Mittermeier’s journey to investigate sustainable living, four indigenous communities, from the Kayapó of Brazil to the Inuit of Greenland, live in harmony with their water sources.

    February 4, 2020 – Birds of Paradise – Tim Laman and Ed Scholes
    Go deep into the New Guinea wilderness to meet all 39 species of the birds of paradise—and enjoy their secret lives, bizarre displays, and dazzling courtship antics in breathtaking visuals.

    March 31, 2020 – Wild Seas, Secret Shores – Thomas Peschak
    From humpback whales off the coast of Canada to South African great white sharks, Thomas Peschak’s award-winning photography takes audiences on a world tour of marine biology.
