Kaur Project Live

Museum of Surrey16 May '19 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

In collaboration with the Museum of Surrey, Kaur Project is continuing to engage the voices of Sikh women with the third edition of Kaur Project: Live on May 16. This month’s theme is Conversations with Our Mothers, Ourselves: Mother-Daughter Relationships. “Our mothers shape our relationship with ourselves and our faith. Being our most important initial relationship, mothers shape our belief systems, our world views and how we navigate life. A mother’s influence shapes are adult relationships, and how Kaurs (women) raise children. These dynamics and so much more will be unpacked," says founder, Jessie Kaur Lehail.

This immersive evening will include hearing four Kaurs — Suroj Kaur Dhillon, Sue Kaur Randhawa, Deljit Kaur Bains, and Bobby Kaur Brar who will share their reflections of their relationships with their mothers (moderated by Jessie Kaur Lehail). During this experience, attendees will have the opportunity to participate by asking questions, engaging in dialogue, and building empathy and deep connections within and between communities – the night is a moving experience that brings people of all age groups together.

This event is open to EVERYONE and there is encouragement to bring our mothers and maternal support systems. Men are also welcome. Tickets are $11.
