Burnaby Village Museum Heritage Christmas

Burnaby Village Museum25 Nov '17 to 05 Jan '18 @ 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Burnaby Village Museum Heritage Christmas
Join us this Heritage Christmas for a season of old-fashioned fun and spectacular light displays. A stroll down the streets of the Village is magical; the 1920s style lights, the cedar boughs, wreaths and big red bows are welcoming. Window displays and inside scenes highlight winter and Christmas items of times past. The light displays throughout the site will amaze and delight. There are lacy white lights, some that are clear multi-coloured, while others twinkle and change colour.

New Event - Bright in Burnaby
Heritage Christmas season commences with the official launch, Bright in Burnaby, on Saturday, December 2. Festivities include an official Tree Lighting ceremony at 6pm and all proceeds from carousel tickets sold between 4:00-9:00pm will be donated to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. A ‘Baker’s Dozen’ of carousel ride tickets are available for purchase and make great stocking stuffers! It’ll be a fun evening, for a great cause.

Highlights Include:
• A visit with Father Christmas – this kindly gentleman receives children and listens to their dreams and wishes but only until Christmas!
• Free live performances in Brookfield Hall - Forte Theatre Society’s Toy of the Year - Rainforest Theatre’s The Sword in the Stone: A New Musical
• Enjoy the wonderful aroma of fresh Heritage Baking wafting from the Farmhouse kitchen on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm.
• Explore the traditional Yuletide scenes displayed in the heritage homes.
• A Holiday-Sing-Along. Everyone can be part of a lively seasonal chorus. Grab a songbook, some jingle bells and join our musical host to sing, clap or hum to some favourite holiday tunes.
• Twelve Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt – pick up your clue sheet and start your search.
• Just for kids: crafts with a heritage twist.
