A Chorus Line at the Blueshore at CapU

The BlueShore at CapU 2055 Purcell Way19 Mar '20 to 28 Mar '20 @ 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

One Singular Sensation dances in to the Blueshore at CapU when the production of the legendary hit show A Chorus Line takes the stage.

A glimpse into a Broadway tradition, A Chorus Line is an exhilarating spectacle about seventeen dancers auditioning for a place on the chorus line of a new show. During the gruelling dance call, the characters reveal why they are there and how they got to this point of their careers, each sharing their personal and intimate journey.

Discomfort turns into revelation, confession leads to redemption, and within the bright, outwardly homogeneous chorus, the audience begins to see each dancer’s individuality. The engrossing story is based on real Broadway dancers’ stories as told to fellow dancer and choreographer Michael Bennett.

A Chorus Line is funny, heartbreaking, and refreshingly honest – still a powerful and totally entertaining experience after 45 years!

Set in 1975, A Chorus Line opened at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway in July of that year, and remains one of the longest-running Broadway shows. An unprecedented box office and critical hit, the musical received twelve Tony Award nominations and won nine, in addition to winning the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

With a cast of 27, the CapU Theatre Department’s production of A Chorus Line closes out the 2019-2020 season in grand musical style. Audiences are bound to leave the theatre with classic show tunes like “One Singular Sensation” running through their head!
