Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum

Burnaby Village Museum24 Nov '18 to 04 Jan '19 @ 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Heritage Christmas is a blast from the past, with lots of old fashioned entertainment, sights, lights and sounds. Take a ride on the vintage carousel or visit with Father Christmas. Start a Tradition - surprise a date or bring your whole family for a fun seasonal outing.

Back this year, is another new creative and fun menagerie of Eco-sculptures. Be sure to look for a sleigh, parked near the Schoolhouse, with its unique animal team ready to pull on command and elegant ‘dancing ladies’ behind a curtain of lights.

A stroll through the streets of the Village uncovers wreaths, cedar swags, paper-chains, cranberry garlands and vintage-themed displays. At the bandstand, visitors can create their own magical holiday show with new full-globe lights that twinkle and change colours to sound.

Special entertainment scheduled throughout the season includes community choirs, street characters and musicians. Many favourite activities are back including a craft for children, baking in the Farmhouse and, of course, visits with Father Christmas. The daily entertainment schedule will be posted online.

Check out your sleuthing skills on the NEW Twelve Days of Christmas scavenger hunt. It’s a great way to see the entire site. The clues are the words to the carol and the answers are sure to surprise and delight. Pick up your free scavenger hunt cards at the gates.

Save the date: Bright in Burnaby, December 1, 2018, 4-9pm. Join the official tree lighting ceremony then an enjoy at cup of hot chocolate at 6pm. Proceeds from all carousel ride tickets are donated to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.
