Fresh St. Market welcomes the return of the Halibut Festival to its Surrey locations the weekend of May 5 and May 6. More than 10,000 lbs. of freshly caught Ocean Wise halibut from British Columbia’s Haida Gwaii region will be available to customers.
 
What: Fresh St. Market invites the whole community to take part in a fish-filled day of food demonstrations from local vendors, children’s activities and the chance to board a 32-foot fishing boat.

Why: The Halibut Festival is an engaging community event that supports local charities. Customers also have the opportunity learn more about seafood sustainability with Ocean Wise.  A fundraising BBQ will feature grilled halibut burgers for $5 alongside pop. All proceeds from the fundraising BBQ benefit the JGL Foundation.
