Here is a breakdown of all the fun and exciting events being held by Diwali Fest this year:

Cooking Demonstrations: Talented chef Raj Thandi will present interesting and exciting Diwali centric dishes in this segment. Chef Thandi is known for her popular South Asian lifestyle blog called Pink Chai Living.

Diwali at the Library: In partnership with Vancouver Public Library, Diwali Fest will be returning its exciting lunchtime music and dance performances in the Downtown Atrium of the VPL Central Branch. Experience the vibrant festive colors and music of India with this performance.

Workshop: Described as the backbone of the festival, Diwali Workshops feature professional artists and facilitators leading workshops in rangoli design, diya lamp painting, Bollywood dancing, sari wrapping, rangoli, and mehndi hand painting.

Diwali Downtown Vancouver: This main event is the key attraction of the festival gathering thousands from various communities. This FREE event that brings together the best of contemporary and classical Indian culture for the entire family. This year’s event will include over fifteen different music and dance performances, an Indian bazaar featuring South Asian crafts and food, a room-sized rangoli and more!

Workshop: Rangoli Making (Richmond): Diwali Fest has partnered with the Richmond Public Library for a rangoli installation and a workshop. It will be hosting a storytelling workshop that includes stories in English, Hindi and Punjabi. The workshop also gives kids the opportunity to try their hands at making rangoli.

Diwali Downtown Surrey: Taking place in Surrey, the event will focus on giving a true Diwali experience with interactive and multicultural performances.
