Bloom - The Abbotsford Tulip Festival

36737 North Parallel Road09 Apr '18 to 15 May '18 @ 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Bloom - The Abbotsford Tulip Festival
Spring has sprung and the fields are officially open at Bloom - The Abbotsford Tulip Festival every day until mid-May or for as long as the blooms last! Millions of tulips are set to blossom over the next few weeks as 10 acres of fields gradually transform into a spectacular display of rainbow-coloured beauty in the country.

Famously hosted in beautiful Abbotsford, British Columbia and located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, Bloom is now in its third year and has gained international attention for its magnificent array of endless tulip fields and stunning country scenery. Attracting an average of 100 thousand visitors during the five week festival, Bloom has become a must-see springtime attraction. With over 2.5 million tulips in up to 70 different varieties, all in bloom at various stages throughout the festival, visitors have a unique opportunity to witness one of the most spectacular floral displays British Columbia has to offer.

Located just off Highway 1 at Exit 104 No. 3 Road in Abbotsford, Bloom was founded by Alexis Warmerdam, a passionate third-generation Canadian tulip farmer and fourth generation bulb grower with Lakeland Flowers, and a strong advocate for young B.C. farmers. Born in 1989 and raised in Abbotsford, Alexis developed her passion for farming at a young age. She grew up playing in the flower fields on the family farm her Dutch immigrant grandparents founded in 1974. It was Alexis’ grandfather, Peter and father who helped to cultivate Alexis’ farming skills and deep appreciation for Dutch horticultural methods. This year, Alexis is honouring her grandfather by bringing a new tulip variety to Canada which she will be officially naming "Peter's Legacy" during a special tulip baptism ceremony on April 18th. Peter's Legacy tulips are a new tall white hybrid tulip variety with large petals. They will be grown for the first time in Canada at Bloom this year.
