Entertaining storytellers, the Bergmann Duo, bring their magical touch to these intimate and casual morning concerts. They enjoy sharing stories and musical insights and invite their acclaimed musical colleagues to perform with them.
Pianoply finds them joining forces with the equally talented couple Duo Turgeon (Edward and Anne Louise), “who play with hypnotic intensity” to create the Canadian Piano Quartet. In a playful pianistic display this power quartet explores a range of delightful and familiar repertoire, with works by Saint-Saëns, Bach, Rossini and Gershwin.
Both duos are laureates of the Dranoff International Two Piano Competition and have enjoyed collaborating over the years at festivals and on tour.
The Coffee Concerts are the perfect mix of eclectic classical and contemporary repertoire, brilliantly rendered with skill and passion by acclaimed Bergmann Duo and their special guests, preceded by a lively social hour before the performance.
Next in the series is Wintersong November 28. The Bergmann’s guest is tenor Benjamin Butterfield, performing works from Franz Schubert to Randy Newman. January 16 enjoy More with Fewer - classical hits and a few ‘not so classical’ tunes featuring violinist Mark Fewer. April 9 the studio theatre is set in cabaret style for Clarinetastik! with Jose Franch-Ballester.
Subscription for the full series Zone A: $99, Zone B $83 available through the box office. Individual tickets are on-line now at tickets.surrey.ca or box office 604-501-5566.
