Women Against Multiple Sclerosis luncheon

Four Seasons Hotel17 Nov '16 @ 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
  • Women Against Multiple Sclerosis luncheon
Businesses serving Canada’s health care industry need to maintain pace with its constant evolution, but they cannot lose sight of the need for compassion while doing so, says Sue Paish, President and CEO of Canada’s biggest provider of community laboratory testing services, LifeLabs.

Paish, who will be attending the second annual Women Against Multiple Sclerosis (WAMS) luncheon, recalls the feeling of compassion firsthand when learning of a friend and mentor who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis years ago and then a cousin after that.

“When families are living with life-changing diseases, support and guidance are immeasurably valuable. The understanding, support and information that can come through WAMS will empower women with MS and those who support them,” says Paish.

As a widely recognized multi-award winning influential executive, legal expert and mother of three daughters, Paish is adamant about her belief that successful business leaders can and must maintain their integrity and compassion when delivering results. She says the same about employees she hires. “Perhaps because I expect it of myself, I look for employees who demonstrate those traits.”

On November 17, 2016, the MS Society of Canada will host the second annual WAMS luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver.

Through MS research-focused fundraising, WAMS strives to unite women to fight against a disease that universally and disproportionately affects women up to three times more than men. WAMS is a collective of professional women committed to raising research funds to end MS while participating in exclusive networking opportunities.
