Directed by Rick Roberts, celebrated actor/writer and comedian Melody A. Johnson returns to the Evergreen Cultural Centre with her new solo comedy drama, Person of Interest, November 12-16.
Person of Interest is the mostly true story of an actor driven to the brink. After applying for a police background check to volunteer at her son’s school, Johnson discovers she has a criminal record, thanks to the Neighbours From Hell. It’s a story of how tensions between neighbours can escalate, and the unpredictably manic way that Johnson chooses to arm herself and wage a war that is so uniquely compelling, comical and, against the law.
Debuting at the Tarragon Theatre Workspace in Toronto in 2018, Person of Interest has begun to tour the country this year. Audiences who have enjoyed the wave of stand-alone storytelling like NPR’s The Moth and CBC’s Vinyl Cafe will crave this yarn spinning, comedic tale. Told simply and skillfully, it is the journey of a good, law-abiding neighbour like Johnson, gone bad.
