Arts Club Theatre Company presents Blind Date

Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre22 Nov '18 to 03 Feb '19 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Audiences in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland will experience all the exhilaration and excitement of new love as Mimi goes on a blind date with a different man every night—plucked right out of the audience! This fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants fusion of clown, improv, theatre, and social experiment is sure to make you fall in love with Mimi and celebrate her audience-member-turned-Romantic-Hero.

The cast mingles in the lobby before the show to find audience members who might be interested in participating. Once inside the theatre, Mimi doesn’t reveal who her Date will be until the show begins. What happens for the next 90 minutes is anyone’s guess.

An actor, director, writer, and producer, Rebecca Northan created Blind Date in 2009. There are now four women trained to play Mimi in the original Blind Date, as well as two other talented actors who star in Queer Blind Date. Northan herself will take the stage as Mimi on Saturday, December 8, at 8 PM.

Northan said, “The thesis of Blind Date has always been ‘Everyone is loveable.’ There is great joy in leaning forward in your seat and watching two strangers attempt to connect. It’s what being human is all about.”
