Actress Zoe Saldana uses organic beauty tricks passed down from her mother. She prefers to go for overripe avocados for skin and white vinegar for hair.
The “Avatar” actress was presented with a handwritten book of DIY (do it yourself) hair and skincare recipes lovingly compiled by her mother when she was younger, which she swears by to this day.
"Everything was organic and stuff that we already had in the kitchen,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Saldana as saying.
Saldana, who was recently unveiled as L'OREAL Paris' latest spokesmodel, shared some of her favourite homemade haircare treatments with readers, including a moisturising avocado hair mask.
"Overripe avocados are perfect. You mash them up with a little olive oil, and let the mixture sit on your hair for 30 minutes. It makes me hungry, so I usually end up rinsing it out too soon,” she said.
The 35-year-old loves having shiny locks, so washes her hair with vinegar every few weeks to restore its vitality and natural gloss.
"Once a month I rinse my hair with white vinegar and warm water to restore the pH balance to my strands,” she said.
