Singer Zayn Malik's fans flooded Twitter with the hashtag "ZaynStayStrong" to support the former One Direction member, who is reportedly mourning the death of his grandmother.
 
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by an Instagram account which was supposedly owned by Malik's younger sister, Waliyha Azad, reports aceshowbiz.com. 
 
The account @waliyha.azad posted a photograph of her grandmother alongside an emotional note. 
 
"R.I.P to my grandma. I love you more than anything in the world, my angel... it was so hard to see you struggle the way you have been but I know your in a better place now with my granddad he'll be so happy to see you after so many years," read the caption. 
 
Post the news, fans took to Twitter to show support to Malik. 
 
One fan @5DaysFor1D tweeted: "Deepest condolences to you and your family, sending my love to you @zaynmalik #ZaynStayStrong." 
 
Another fan @93cuddlynjhx wrote alongside images of Malik: "You are such a strong person, I know you are going to get through this :) x #ZaynStayStrong."
