When Lady Gaga Met Dalai Lama

Darpan News Desk IANS, 27 Jun, 2016 11:49 AM
  • When Lady Gaga Met Dalai Lama
Singer Lady Gaga sat down with the Dalai Lama to talk about the power of kindness and how to make the world a more compassionate place.

The meet up happened backstage at the US Conference Of Mayors 84th Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday, after the 81-year-old Tibetan religious leader delivered the keynote speech about the importance of building compassionate cities.

In the 20-minute question-and-answer session, Gaga asked Dalai Lama a series of questions she chose from social media about how to deal with injustices in the world, reports dailymail.co.uk.

They talked about kindness and hope and they clasped hands at the beginning and end of the interview, moderated by journalist Ann Curry.

She appeared on stage in a black jacket, washed out skinny jeans ripped at the knees and black high-heeled ankle boots, with her platinum blonde hair in a chic updo and very little make-up.

Gaga also shared some images on Instagram for her followers.

In the first image, taken before the conference started, she is seen going through papers.

"Preparing to share my message of kindness and compassion," Gaga captioned the image.

The second photograph shows the Dalai Lama holding her hand, which she captioned: "Hope is essential to keep the world going".

In the third snapshot, Gaga gazes out of a window overlooking Indianapolis.

"Kindness is a free currency from a well that will never dry up," she captioned the photograph.
