Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Feb, 2016 12:46 PM
  • Vin Diesel, Deepika Padukone's 'XXX' To Release In January 2017
Actor Vin Diesel starrer “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage”, which will mark the Hollywood debut of Indian actress Deepika Padukone, will release on January 20, 2017.

The action film, which is currently under production in Toronto, with additional filming in the Dominican Republic, is being produced by Revolution Studios, Roth Kirschenbaum Films and Diesel’s One Race Film, reports variety.com.

Directed by D.J. Caruso, the film follows Diesel’s character as he comes out of self-imposed exile to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box.

Diesel starred in the original 2002 “XXX,” directed by Rob Cohen, as underground sports star Xander Cage, who was blackmailed by the US government to take down a gang of international terrorists.

Diesel was not part of the sequel, as Ice Cube played the lead role in 2005’s “xXx: State of the Union”.

The film will also star Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev and Donnie Yen.
