Actor Robert Downey Junior won big at the People's Choice Awards 2015, bagging the favourite movie actor and the favourite dramatic movie actor awards.
 
The winners for the gala were announced during a live broadcast hosted by “Mom” stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney. It was held at the Nokia theatre here Wednesday night.
 
“The Big Bang Theory” took home the favourite TV show and favourite network TV comedy titles, while its star, Kaley Cuoco, nabbed favourite comedic TV actress for the second consecutive year. “Grey’s Anatomy” scored favourite network TV drama and additional awards for several cast members including Ellen Pompeo for favourite dramatic TV actress.
 
The honour for favourite action movie actor went to Chris Evans. Lady Antebellum took home favourite country group after performing “FreeStyle”, while singer Iggy Azalea was on hand to accept favourite hip-hop artist and perform “Beg for it”.
 
The gala featured the presentation of the third annual People’s Choice Award for favourite humanitarian, presented by Walgreens, to Ben Affleck. Past winners of this award include Sandra Bullock in 2013 and Jennifer Hudson in 2014.
 
This was the 41st year of the People’s Choice Awards and it is the only major awards show voted on entirely by the public for fan favourites in films, music and television.
 
The People’s Choice official website at www.peopleschoice.com houses the voting platform where fans determine the categories, nominees and winners for the annual awards show.
 
Every year, potential nominees are determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales and the website's data, then vetted through EPoll Market Research.
