Prince Didn't Want Kardashians On 'New Girl': Deschanel

Darpan News Desk IANS, 12 May, 2016 12:48 PM
  • Prince Didn't Want Kardashians On 'New Girl': Deschanel
Actress Zooey Deschanel has revealed that late pop icon Prince was not a fan of the Kardashians and once shut down their cameos in an episode of the TV show "New Girl", which also also featured the "Purple rain" singer.

Making an appearance on the TV show "Conan", Deschanel, who stars as Jessica "Jess" Christopher Day on "New Girl", also said that a production assistant had to burn the scripts and everything that might mention the Kardashians, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"I'm not sure exactly how the celebrities were chosen, but someone was friends with some of the Kardashians and had made a phone call, and they had kindly come on to shoot a little cameo part where they were at Prince's party, which I didn't really know about because it kept changing," Deschanel revealed.

"Someone from Prince's camp said like, 'Who are the celebrities? I hope it's not a Kardashian'," she added.

The 36-year-old recalled that the assistant took her and everyone else's scripts.

"I get there the day Prince is supposed to arrive, and I'm studying my lines, and one of the PAs comes in, and she says, 'I need all of the (scripts)'. She takes mine from me and takes everybody else's ... I'm like, 'What is going on?' I walk outside, and she has, like, a bonfire. She's burning all the scripts and the call sheets," Deschanel added.

Prince appeared in an episode of "New Girl" season 3 aptly titled "Prince".

In a video that surfaced following his death, the singer was also seen kicking Kim Kardashian off of his concert stage.
