Actor-musician John Stamos has thanked his fans for their "love and support" following his arrest.
The 51-year-old, who was arrested by the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) for DUI (Drinking Under Influence) on Friday, took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his followers and staff at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre who treated him for a "possible medical condition", reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“Thanks to everyone for their love and support. I'm home and well. Very appreciative of the BHPD and Cedars for their care,” he wrote.
Officers were alerted to the fact that Stamos had been drinking when he started driving erratically along Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
They then handcuffed the star before taking him to hospital for treatment.
In a statement from the BHPD, they confirmed Stamos was cited for DUI and is set to appear in court on September 11.
The statement said: "The BHP stopped the vehicle at Canon Dr. and Santa Monica Boulevard. The driver and sole occupant was identified by his driver's license as John Phillip Stamos, and by his own statement.
