Nicki Minaj Slammed For Westminster Bridge Footage In New Video

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Apr, 2017 12:35 PM
  • Nicki Minaj Slammed For Westminster Bridge Footage In New Video
Rapper Nicki Minaj has come under fire on social media for using footage she filmed on Westminster Bridge the day before the London terror attack in her new music video.

The video for "No frauds", which features Drake and Lil Wayne, includes a lot of footage captured in the city.

It opens on a shot of Big Ben and shots panning across Westminster. Minaj also sits on the wall on the edge of the bridge singing into the camera as it takes in the iconic scenes of London behind her.

The footage was captured the day before attacker Khalid Masood killed three pedestrians with his car, before fatally stabbing a police officer on March 22.

A source had told The Sun newspaper that the Westminster footage wouldn't make the final cut because it was considered ‘in bad taste', reports mirror.co.uk.

But the footage did make it to the final edit.

Some fans took to social media to say they felt it was too soon.

One posted: "I thought Nicki was editing out those shots of Westminster bridge."

Another said: "Nicki Minaj by Westminster Bridge in her new video... too soon?"

And another commented: "Nicki Minaj's 'No Frauds' video features Westminster Bridge despite reports scenes would be cut …"

However, others had no issue with the video, and instead saw it as a good opportunity to visit a spot they know their idol has been.

One fan sent a message to the singer, saying: "I'm gonna find that wall by Westminster bridge and sit on it just like you."
