"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2", the final part of the "Hunger Games" series, has snatched with 11 million pounds sterling ($16.5 million) the British box office top slot this week from James Bond movie "Spectre".
According to the BBC on Wednesday, "Mockingjay Part 2" ended the run at the top for the latest James Bond movie, which lasted for three weeks.
"Spectre", starring Daniel Craig as Bond, took 3.82 million pounds sterling ($5.76 million) over the last weekend, above "The Lady in the Van" in third place with 1.61 million pounds sterling ($2.43 million).
Animated sequel "Hotel Transylvania 2" came in fourth, while "Brooklyn", starring Saoirse Ronan, came in fifth.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" was first screened in Britain in November 2014, and earned 12.6 million pounds sterling ($18.9 million) in its first week, according to its distributor Lionsgate.
