'Mirzya' Music Launched At Grand Event

    The music launch of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's, "Mirzya" here on Tuesday turned out to be one of the biggest events of the year with Bollywood's who's who attending the event where veteran Gulzar recited few poems.
     
    Singer Daler Mehndi and music composers Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy performed live on a few songs from the album.
     
    Gulzar is also the lyricist and writer of the film which is the debut of actor Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor.
     
    Shankar Mahadevan, who was more than happy to work with Gulzar, says one gets to learn something new everyday from him.
     
    "He (Gulzar) always gets something new... everyday is a new experience, everyday is like a new surprise. We get to learn something new from him everyday. We consider ourselves very lucky to work with Gulzar saab," he told reporters at the event.
     
    The title track "Mirzya" is beautifully helmed by Daler Mehendi, who has sung a lot of title tracks for Mehra, including "Rang De Basanti".
     
    "I am grateful to Mehraji that he believes in me and loves my voice. Last 4 to 5 years, I was doing shows but in films, I was not getting anything and I also couldn't sing because with the kind of songs were being made these days. The songs you will listen in this film are pure Indian music," he said.
     
    Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Sridevi, Javed Akhtar, Tanvi Azim were among those present.
     
    "Mirzya", pairing Harshvardhan opposite newcomer Saiyami Kher, is penned by Gulzar and is a take on the tragic love story of Mirza-Sahiban.
     
    It is slated to release on October 7.
