Mindy Kaling, Helena Carter Join 'Ocean's Eleven' Reboot

Darpan News Desk IANS, 10 Jun, 2016 12:48 PM
Actresses Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter will reportedly join Sandra Bullock, who will lead the pack in the upcoming all-female reboot of Warner Bros' "Ocean's Eleven".

According to Hollywood news portal Showbiz 411, actress Cate Blanchett has also been confirmed to join the star-studded cast. However, Jennifer Lawrence was reportedly unable to join the project due to her busy schedule.

The "Ocean's Eleven" reboot will be a continuation of the George Clooney-led films, with Bullock starring as Danny Ocean's sister. With help from Blanchett -- who will essay the equivalent of actor Brad Pitt's Rusty in the original series -- Bullock's character will form a team of thieves to steal a necklace from the Met Ball in order to frame a villainous gallery owner.

The project is unofficially titled "Ocean's Ocho", indicating there are eight thief protagonists instead of the traditional eleven.

Gary Ross is directing, producing and writing the screenplay with "Queen & Country" scribe Olivia Milch. Shooting is expected to begin next fall.
