Meryl Streep Talks About Harvey Weinstein Over Dinner

  • Meryl Streep Talks About Harvey Weinstein Over Dinner
In an interview with leading fashion magazine Vogue, Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep revealed that her family talks about Harvey Weinstein over dinner.

"Harvey Weinstein, that's all we talk about. It's horrible," she said.

Miramax co-founder Weinstein has been accused of sexual harassment by several women in Hollywood over the last month.

"We want them to be free, we want them to be proud, we want them to be female. You put them in danger by not informing them about the male gaze and how it works on young girls," the three-time Oscar winner added.

When questioned about predatory workplace behaviour, the 'Florence Foster Jenkins' star mocked "men's locker room talk" and said, "We're civilised people and we learn from our mistakes".

In the interview, Streep also revealed she hoped the award season was more aware this time.

"I think it might lead to the moment where, at least in my business, where people walk into a room and they see three women and nine men and they think there's something wrong. That it's off," she said.

The actress will be seen playing Washington Post editor Katherine Graham, in Steven Spielberg's movie, The Post. The movie is based on the true story of the Pentagon Papers, the largest leak of confidential material in US history.
