  • Melissa Mccarthy To Return For 'Gilmore Girls' Revival
Actress Melissa McCarthy will return in the upcoming revival of comedy-drama TV series “Gilmore Girls” as Sookie.

The actress announced the news on TV show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, reports variety.com.

“Literally about an hour and half ago, we figured out that I’m gonna go back and do it and I am so excited. And they are gonna be amazing,” she said.

The episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” is set to be aired on Friday.

McCarthy is one of the last series originals to be announced for the show revival. Previously, showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino pointed to McCarthy’s “really f******g busy” schedule as the reason she wouldn’t be appearing in the show.

A release date for the new “Gilmore Girls” series is yet to be announced.
