Marisa Tomei To Play Aunt May In 'Spider-man' Movie?

Darpan News Desk IANS, 09 Jul, 2015 11:59 AM
After finalising actor Tom Holland as the new Spider-Man by Marvel and Sony, the makers are in talks with Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei to play Aunt May in the next instalment of the superhero franchise.

According to a source, the makers made an offer last week to Tomei to join Holland in the film, reports variety.com.

Both the studios earlier handpicked Holland to play Spider-Man after months of meetings and screen tests with eager young actors, in addition to selecting Jon Watts to direct the film.

The studios are still in the process of finding a writer to join Watts in the screenwriting process, but insiders explained that the top brass also wanted to lock down other actors who would appear in multiple films, so that schedules could be worked out before shooting commences next year.

Holland is expected to first appear in “Captain America: Civil War” in a cameo appearance as Parker. However, Tomei might not appear until the first “Spider-Man” film hit theatres on July 28, 2017.
