Singer Lady Gaga will perform at the 87th Academy Awards here Feb 22.
 
The show's producers - Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and Gaga - took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news Thursday, reports ew.com. 
 
The 28-year-old singer confirmed the news by tweeting: "I'm performing live at the OSCARS this year!"
 
Zadan wrote that Gaga will be involved in "a very special performance."
 
Gaga has joined other previously announced performers including Jack Black, Anna Kendrick and Jennifer Hudson. 
 
"Lady Gaga is a once in a lifetime artist who's musical evolution keeps growing. We are proud to have her perform on the Oscars for the very first time," the producers said in a joint statement. 
 
Gaga also performed with Tony Bennett at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this month.
