Kate Winslet Feels Makeup Is 'Liberating'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 26 May, 2015 02:02 PM
Actress Kate Winslet finds makeup to be "liberating" and says it makes her feel "confident" and "feminine".

"Wearing makeup can make a woman feel confident, feminine and celebrated -- and I think it also brings a sense of liberation," Winslet told the Stella magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The 39-year-old actress also revealed the secret method she uses to keep her skin glowing and ready for the cameras.

She said: "Fresh air does wonders for my skin so I keep a window open in my room at night for a little bit of breeze. I try to get as much sleep as possible, and drink plenty of water too."

Meanwhile, Winslet said she is feeling much more confident in her own body and deals with the "judgement (and) scrutiny" by examining her career successes instead of focussing on her figure.

"I still dip in and out of feeling confident as much as the next person, but I can genuinely say, now more than ever, that I really do love the fact that I'm curvy. I've got b**bs and a b** and a man who loves me.

"When you go through the sort of scrutiny that I have, you have to choose a means of dealing with that level of judgement. My way has always been to take a good look at how my career is going. The way I see it, I have an incredibly fulfilling, rewarding career that has nothing to do with the size of my a**e."
