Justin Bieber angers Prince fans with 'Disrespectful' comment

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 Apr, 2016 02:02 PM
Singer Justin Bieber has angered pop icon Prince's grieving fans by posting an insensitive comment about the deceased legend on Instagram.

The message was in response to a touching and heartfelt tribute by funk, soul and rock musician Andrew Watt, who described how he was truly devastated by the loss of "the last of the greatest living performers," reports mirror.co.uk.

However, Bieber seemingly didn't agree with that, posting a comment on the photograph, which read: "Well, not the last greatest living performer".

Some Instagram users suggested Bieber was referring to himself.

"Surely, Bieber doesn't count himself in the pantheon of the last great living artists, does he?" wrote a user, while another called his comment "entirely laughable".

"He is not even the best of his contemporaries, let alone achieved legendary status and it is doubtful that he will ever reach this status".

Prince was found dead at his Minnesota home on Thursday. He became a superstar in the 1980s, with the albums "1999", "Purple Rain" and "Sign O' the Times".
