Actress Julianne Moore is teaming up with Everytown for Gun Safety to start the Everytown Creative Council, which includes a group of actors, artists and more who support the prevention of gun violence .

Everytown, which was founded in 2014, is an American non-profit organization which advocates gun control, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“As American citizens, we are shocked and saddened by the loss of life, and the daily increase of gun violence in our beautiful country," Moore said in a statement.

"We do not believe that the Second Amendment and gun safety are mutually exclusive ideas, and as a creative community, we will do everything we can to support the safety of our fellow Americans, and galvanize more to join us in this movement,” she added.

The Everytown Creative Council will "use its collective reach and cultural influence to support common-sense solutions proven to save lives from the gun violence that claims 88 American lives every day and injures hundreds more,” the organization said in a statement.

The Creative Council also includes J.J. Abrams, Jessica Chastain, Lee Daniels, Ron Howard, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael J. Fox, Seth MacFarlane, Reese Witherspoon and Jeff Bridges, among others.
