Jennifer Lopez Slams Fake Tweet Dissing Mariah Carey

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Mar, 2016 01:38 PM
Singer Jennifer Lopez has slammed a fake tweet which used her name to criticise "We belong together" hitmaker Mariah Carey.

Carey, who wrote a tweet in the wake of the twin bombings in Brussels, was trolled by a fake account of Lopez, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"Praying for Brussels, I've been strongly warned against performing there on Sunday but have yet to decide. I'll let my fans know as soon as possible," Carey wrote on Twitter.

A fake account of Lopez then replied with a tweet that read: "ISIS only target places where there are lots of people so I think your concert will be ok. Good luck hitting those notes!"

The tweet went viral and Lopez later got to know about it. The "Love don't cost a thing" hitmaker quickly took to her official Twitter account to clarify that she didn't send the "nasty" post.

"Someone copied my act and wrote something nasty about another artist," Lopez wrote early Thursday morning.

"I would never lower myself like that," she said, along with hashtags for words like "fake", "small-minded", "no class" and "not me."

Carey is indeed scheduled to perform in Brussels. She's slated to bring her tour to the Forest National this weekend.
