Actress Jennifer Lawrence has slammed Hollywood for focussing more on physical appearance of an actor than talent.
"I hate all the focus on weight and size that you have in our business. I don't think an actress needs to be skinny to be attractive and it sends the wrong message to young women," Lawrence told Grazia magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
She feels that artistes should "establish" themselves for their "talents" and not "appearance".
"It's important that, as actresses, we need to establish ourselves first and foremost for our talent, and not for our physical appearance," added the 25-year-old.
Lawrence also criticised the gender-pay gap in the movie industry.
"I'm aware that movie stars earn too much money in relation to the rest of the world. But it's the principle that is important. I can't stand a lack of fairness. This has nothing to do with ingratitude - I love my job and I know how lucky I am to be able to live off my art," she said.
