Chinese movie star Jackie Chan's son Jaycee Chan was sentenced to six months in jail Friday for a drug-related crime here.
Beijing's Dongcheng District People's Court also fined Jaycee 2,000 yuan ($326) after convicting him of providing a venue for drug users, Xinhua reported.
His trial started earlier in the day.
On Aug 14, 2014, Beijing police detained various people, including Jaycee and Taiwan movie star Ko Chen-tung, for drug offences.
Jaycee and Ko tested positive for marijuana and both admitted to have taken the drug.
The People's Procuratorate of Dongcheng district in Beijing filed charges against Jaycee Dec 22 for providing a venue for drug users.
Jackie Chan has apologised to the public for Jaycee's offences. He said that in future Jaycee can learn from his mistake.
During the trial, Jaycee said he deserved punishment because he violated the law. He said he would never repeat the mistake, and hoped to be forgiven by the public.
According to Chinese law, the maximum sentence for such a crime is three years in prison as well as a fine.
