I might be bipolar: Charlie Sheen

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Jan, 2016 01:16 PM
Actor Charlie Sheen thinks he has bipolar disorder.

The “Anger Management” actor says various medical experts have warned him he could suffer from the condition - which typically sees sufferers experience bouts of both depression and manic behaviour - and he thinks it could be responsible for some of his battles with addiction.

Sheen admitted "I might be bipolar" on "The Dr. Oz Show" on Monday, reports dailymail.co.uk.

“I've been described or diagnosed by enough people that I guess at some point you have to take a look at it...Manic behaviour is usually in the throes of departing substance abuse and drinking,” said Sheen.

“It doesn't really happen when I'm not doing that,” he added.

But the 50-year-old says he has never viewed his mood swings as a problem.

He said: "They've always seemed normal to me. I've just accepted it as part of my make-up.

"I don't look at it as mania, I just look at it as the very... interesting universe."

Sheen - who announced in November he is HIV Positive - is unsure whether he wants to take medication for bipolar disorder but would "consider" it.

He said: "What else is it going to 'fix'? I would certainly consider (taking) it, sure."
