Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Sep, 2015 02:31 PM
Hollywood actress Lesley Ann Warren, who has starred in "Jobs" and "Desperate Housewives", is a firm believer in Indian astrology.

"Though I have never visited India, my astrologer is an Indian and I believe in Indian astrology," the actress told IANS.

An Academy Award nominated and Golden Globe Award winning international actress, Warren also loves the song and dance routines in Bollywood films. The 69-year-old even hopes to star in one such project some day.

HOLLYWOOD CAN TAKE BOLLYWOOD'S JUBILANT QUALITY

If there's one factor that Hollywood can pick from Bollywood films, it has to be their "jubilant" nature, says Lesley Ann Warren, an Academy Award nominated and Golden Globe Award winning international actress.

In an interaction with IANS at Anaheim here, she spoke fondly of what she loves about Indian cinema, particularly Bollywood.

"I have not seen a lot of Hindi films, but from the movies which I have seen, I think there is a sense of joy and I love that everyone joins in the music and dance... parents, children. I love this as I also come from dancing background.

"I also love the jubilant quality. I think Hindi films or the ones that I have seen appeal to all ages and they have something inspiring to communicate and these are some of the things Hollywood can learn from Bollywood," Warren said.

The actress, who was nominated for an Academy Award in 1983 in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category for film "Victor Victoria", fell in love with Hindi films due to their effervescence.

"I love Bollywood films. I have seen some of them. I fell in love with its music, its dancing, its colours, the vibrancy and vitality in the performance and the energy," said Warren, who won a Golden Globe Award in the Best TV Actress - Drama category in 1978 for "Harold Robbins' 79 Park Avenue".

The 69-year-old also expressed her desire to work in Bollywood. "I would love to work in Bollywood and be a part of the singing and dancing."

The actress started her journey in the world of showbiz with the 1965 television version of "Cinderella" and went on to do a mix of television and big screen projects like "The Happiest Millionaire", "Jobs" and "Desperate Housewives".

Warren also earned a nomination in Primetime Emmy Award in 1990 in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini-series or a Special category for "Family of Spies".

Bollywood is not the only thing from India that holds a special place in her life. She is also a firm believer of Indian astrology.

"Though I have never visited India, my astrologer is an Indian and I believe in Indian astrology," the actress said.

Her current work slate has a number of projects like "Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce", "The Force" and "It Snows All the Time".
