George Clooney, Wife Meet Syrian Refugees

Darpan News Desk IANS, 14 Feb, 2016 01:42 PM
Actor George Clooney and his lawyer wife Amal Clooney met a Syrian mother Mona and her 11-year-old daughter Joudi following their sit-down with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The duo solemnly listened to her story as she explained why she needed to escape strife-torn Syria, reports aceshowbiz.com.

George and Amal also met two other Syrian families.

"It was an honour to meet three Syrian families whose lives have been shattered by war and inspiring to learn that the people of Germany are helping them put their lives back together," George said.

The "Tomorrowland" star had raised awareness about the refugee crisis during his stay in Berlin with his wife to promote his new movie "Hail Caesar".

They offered their support for Merkel's policy to open the door for asylum seekers amid the increasing pressure she faced for welcoming the refugees.
