Dogged Johnny Depp ready to hit for Amber Heard

Darpan News Desk IANS, 13 Sep, 2015 12:28 PM
Actor Johnny Depp has joked that he would "assault" an Australian politician if his wife and actress Amber Heard is sent to prison for allegedly smuggling their dogs into the country.

Heard is facing charges for illegally smuggling their pet dogs to Australia earlier this year.

The actor quipped about the case on TV show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that he would hit Australia's agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce so that he too can join his wife in the jail, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

He said: "I would just fly to Australia and assault that man so that I could go to prison."

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star added that the dog drama had been "by far the most interesting" legal case he's ever been involved in, and insists he and Heard were under the impression their dogs Pistol and Boo had entered the country legally.

"We were under the impression that we had all the paperwork done for the dogs, we were there with the dogs in front of everybody," Depp said.

Heard is facing charges for providing false documentation for the dogs. She will be appearing Queensland court in November.
