Daniel Craig to star in TV series?

Darpan News Desk IANS, 14 Feb, 2016 01:37 PM
Online video streaming platforms like Netflix and Showtime are in talks to have actor Daniel Craig star in an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s novel “Purity”.

“Purity”, which will be produced by Scott Rudin and written by Todd Field and Franzen, might star Craig, marking it as his first TV series in US, reports variety.com.

Rudin is said to have held a round of meetings with Showtime, Netflix, FX and at least three other platforms in search of a straight-to-series order.

According to industry sources, producers were seeking a 20-episode order.

“Purity", published in September, tells the story of an aimless young woman named Purity, known as Pip. She was raised in unusual circumstances in California and ends up travelling from Oakland to Bolivia to Denver in a series of jobs and relationships with equally offbeat characters.
