Cate Blanchett in 'Thor: Ragnarok'?

    Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett may soon be joining the Marvel universe as she is in talks to star in the upcoming film “Thor: Ragnarok”.
     
    As per sources, Blanchett might play one of the new female leads in the film, reports variety.com.
     
    Blanchett, who has received a Golden Globe nomination for “Carol”, would be making her first major comic book role in “Ragnarok”.
     
    Taika Waiti will direct the third instalment in the popular “Thor” franchise with Chris Hemsworth returning to play the lead role. 
     
    Blanchett’s character in the superhero sequel isn’t known. “Ragnarok” will also feature Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and the villainous Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki in “The Avengers” universe.
     
    “Thor: Ragnarok” is slated to release on November 3, 2017.
