Actress Anne Hathaway and director Garry Marshall, who brought “The Princess Diaries” alive on the silver screen, are planning to make a third movie in the successful franchise.
"I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do 'Princess Diaries 3' in Manhattan," people.com quoted Marshall as saying.
Based on Meg Cabot's 2000 novel of the same name, the film franchise tells the story of a girl, who discovers that she is the heir to the throne of the fictional kingdom, and how her life goes for a toss as she tries to fit in. The first film came out in 2001, and its sequel “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” in 2004.
But there is still time for the third chapter of the film to become a reality.
Marshall said: “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we're going to do it."
Might there be a role in there for “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” star Chris Pine?
"Maybe. He's quite big now, you know,” Marshall said.
