Angelina Jolie says she developed high blood pressure and Bell's palsy last year. The actress-director toldVanity Fair that she credits acupuncture for her full recovery from the paralysis, which was caused by nerve damage and led one side of her face to droop.
"Sometimes women in families put themselves last, until it manifests itself in their own health," she said, speaking about the illness.
Jolie also opened up about her divorce from Brad Pitt in the magazine's September cover story , which was released online Wednesday. Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016.
She says they care for each other and for their family and are "both working toward the same goal." She added that she does not want her six children to worry about her and that "it's very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them."
In this Vanity Fair interview, Jolie also spoke about how she reinvented herself, bought a house in Cambodia and became a citizen there. She revealed that it was Pitt who convinced her to have biological children, and that it was their children who wanted them to get married.
When asked if it was her and Pitt's lifestyle that led to their eventual breakup, she replied in the negative. Angelina Jolie also said that at this point of time in life, she does not have any interest in working on a film.
