The first look of Ajay Devgn's upcoming film "Sons of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi" unveiled on Friday, and the actor says it's a tribute to the warriors of the Battle of Saragarhi.

Ajay, who was also part of the 2012 movie "Son of Sardaar", shared the look on Twitter.

"Unveiling Sons Of Sardaar. My tribute to warriors of Saragarhi: A tale of rage, of love, of bravery. 'Sons Of Sardaar'," Ajay captioned the image.

"Sons of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi" is based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi. It was fought on September 12, 1897 between 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikh Regiment (now the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment) of British India, defending an army post, and more than 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen.

The sequel to "Son of Sardaar" is expected to hit the theatres on Diwali 2017.
