Singer Adele has revealed that watching the tragic decline of late singer Amy Winehouse left her frightened of fame.
The 27-year-old shared in her blog that Winehouse's troubled death in 2011 at the same age as her drove home the dangers of living in the spotlight, reports mirror.co.uk.
"People think I hate being famous. I don't. I'm really frightened of it. Watching Amy deteriorate is one of the reasons I'm a bit frightened. We were all very entertained by her being a mess," she wrote.
"I was f****** sad about it but if someone showed me a picture of her looking bad, I'd look at it. That level of attention is frightening," she added.
Last week, Adele's comeback album "25" scaled the summit of iTunes India charts just hours after its global release on Friday.
Backed by Universal, "25" is the follow-up to Adele's "21", which for 24 weeks was at the top position on the Billboard 200 chart.
