Yet To Make A Film I'm Entirely In Love With: Karan Johar

  • Yet To Make A Film I'm Entirely In Love With: Karan Johar
Filmmaker Karan Johar has helmed some of the biggest romantic films of this generation but the director says he is yet to make a movie he entirely loves.

Karan, who debuted with ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, and went on to direct films like ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘My Name is Khan’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, says he often cringes when he sees some portions of his work.

“In retrospect when I look back and see some parts of my movies I cringe and feel terrible that I actually subjected an audience to those portions. Some of them got fortunate, other parts in those films made them reach a certain success mark,” Karan said.

“I’m not proud and happy with each and everyone of them. I am yet to make a film that I entirely love,” he added.

He was speaking at the launch of his radio show ‘Calling Karan’ season 2 on Ishq 104.8 FM. On the show, the director gives love advice to callers but says he never takes a cue from his films to help people.

“No, what we show in the movies is ridiculous. You can’t possibly ruin people’s lives by giving those situations. Those are meant for cinema halls but not for people,” he said.

Karan said he is so honest with his advice that often he has broken relationships.

“We have a disclaimer in the beginning that I’m not a professionally trained individual so my advice should be taken at that level. But I give extremely sincere advice and I’ve broken a few relationships,” he added.
