Would Love To See Parineeti Play Me In My Biopic: Sania Mirza

Darpan News Desk IANS, 12 Apr, 2016 11:23 AM
  • Would Love To See Parineeti Play Me In My Biopic: Sania Mirza
Indian tennis aces Sania Mirza feels actress Parineeti Chopra would be the perfect choice to portray her onscreen if there is a biopic made on her life.

“Both Deepika (Padukone) and Parineeti are very good friends (of mine), but Parineeti is closer to me. If there is a biopic made on me, I would love to see Parineeti playing me onscreen,” Parineeti said at the NRI of the Year award function on Monday where she was honoured with India’s Global Icon award.

In her acceptance speech, Sania said that she travels so much across the world for tennis tournaments that she herself feels like an NRI.

“I travel almost 30 weeks of the year and get to interact with so many NRIs. Honestly, there are around 30 million NRIs across the world. So wherever I go I find Indians (everywhere) and feel at home,” Sania said.

“I have support everywhere and I would like to thank those supporting me wherever I go. I spend so much time outside the country that I almost feel like an NRI though I am not.

“I think these kind of awards make people like us, especially the NRIs, feel that you are an Indian, no matter in which part of the world you currently reside,” added Sania, who is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
