When Taapsee Paanu Came To Rescue A Victim Of Eve-Teasing

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Aug, 2016 01:37 PM
Taapsee, who frequently used the metro, was returning from a shoot one day, when she witnessed a girl being eve-teased. Realising what was happening, Taapsee ran to her help and made sure that the girl reached home safely.

When asked about the incident, Taapsee said, “When I was going towards my car from the metro station I saw these guys who were passing comments on a girl when she was alone.

I approached that girl without any second thought and asked her if I could drop her to the place she was meant to be at. I was a stranger to the girl and I wasn’t sure if she would take my help readily but I’m glad she came with me. I feel anyone, not just myself, in such a situation should do their best to extend a helping hand.”

In Pink, Taapsee plays a rape victim in Shoojit Sircar’s Delhi-set thriller Pink. The film reflects on the dubious morals of today’s times. It revolves around three girls who were trapped in a criminal case. They are tried in the court for an attempt to murder case and defaming some men.
