We're Still Together At Phantom Films: Vikramaditya Motwane

IANS, 27 Jul, 2017 12:41 PM
  • We're Still Together At Phantom Films: Vikramaditya Motwane
The Phantom Films quartet is "still together", says filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, who is a part of the movie production banner with Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl.

Ever since news of a female employee of the company accused Bahl of molestation emerged in April, there has been buzz of a rift between the four.

Asked about what's happening, Motwane told IANS here: "We're still together... That's what's happening."

Prodded further about it, Motwane asserted: "You're hearing it from the horse's mouth. The horse is telling you from the mouth that we are still together..."

He also turned down talks that any of the members are making films out of the Phantom Films banner -- whether it is Kashyap's "Mukkebaaz" with Aanand L Rai or Mantena's Ramayana film trilogy with other producers.

"Nobody is doing it outside Phantom," he said.

Motwane also said the four of them -- known for giving the Hindi film industry titles like "Lootera", "Queen", "NH10", "Masaan", Udta Punjab" and "Trapped" -- are excited about a 10-film slate with Blumhouse Films.

"Jason Blum is one of the best independent producer who has 'Whiplash', 'Get Out', Split and tons of indie horror films (to his credit). We are very excited because we hope to change the face of horror films in the country.

Motwane was in the capital for The Word To Screen Publishers Bootcamp by Jio MAMI on Thursday.
