We Didn't Want To Make Movie Which Makes Me Hero: MS Dhoni

Darpan News Desk IANS, 12 Aug, 2016 10:45 AM
  • We Didn't Want To Make Movie Which Makes Me Hero: MS Dhoni
One of the most celebrated cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni's life has been captured on the big screen with the film "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" but the cricketer says he did not want to show himself as a hero in the film.

When asked Dhoni is he worried of nervous about this film he said: "I am not worried at all as I have confidence in the crew. Right from the start we were in the same page. I have seen his (Neeraj Pandey) films and I like how he puts things on screen. We were clear right from the beginning we do not want to make a movie which makes me a hero or glamorises me."

"It was more about the journey so that people can relate to it. At the end of the day when you reach the goal it's the small decisions that you take has the impact what happens inbetween that is what pushes me transforms me to what I am today. The movie is more about the journey and it shows what all happened with me. It's a bit awkward to watch your own movie. At the same time I felt I was not the one who was very nervous it was Sushant," he added.

Dhoni, has co-produced the biopic, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the titular role.

Further, revealing more about the film he said: "People can easily relate to it and cricket is the part of the movie. The movie is more about human emotions so its not only cricket. Neeraj is one of the best directors I feel he projects the film and sticks to the theme."

Dhoni who launched the trailer of his biopic film "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" on Wednesday witnessed a packed hall filled with his fans who were cheering and whistling for him.

The cricketer also appologised the crowd for the delay.

He said, "Sorry to keep you guys waiting as far as the promotion of the movie is concerned we have been to Jalandar, Delhi and now here in Mumbai. The kind of response we have got so far is fantastic I think we have got good reception so far. A lot of things get delayed because of weather as far as the promotion is concerned I am happy that I am part of it as I have the time."

"MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" also stars Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawla, Rajesh Sharma and Kiara Advani. It is set to release on September 30.
