'Wazir' An Emotional Drama, Not Thriller: Farhan Akhtar

Darpan News Desk IANS, 28 Dec, 2015 11:10 AM
  • 'Wazir' An Emotional Drama, Not Thriller: Farhan Akhtar
Actor Farhan Akhtar, who will be seen as investigative officer in "Wazir", says the movie is a heartwarming emotional drama rather than the thriller people think it is going to be.

"There is little bit of the thriller aspect in the film because there is an investigation in the movie. But if you ask me, this movie is all about emotional drama," Farhan said in an interview here.

"The emotional thrust of this film is the most effective thing and that is something which will remain with you. There is a love story and drama of two friends that is something you'll remember about this film once you watch it," added the actor, who stars in the movie with veteran star Amitabh Bachchan.

"Wazir", produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Bejoy Nambiar, also features Aditi Rao Hydari and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

The film tells the story of two unusual friends -- one a paralysed chess grandmaster and another a grief-stricken ATS officer -- brought together by a peculiar twist of fate.

"First, this movie will enter your heart, the drama, love and friendship will touch your heart, and then you might feel the smartness of the film," Farhan said while emphasising on the emotional aspect of the film.

"When we talk about Hindi films, especially our films, they cannot succeed without the emotional connection. That is the most important thing," he added.

The movie will hit screens on January 8 next year.
