The biopic will see Sushmita in multiple shades, in a never seen before avatar. Sushmita will be fronting the biopic whose rights have been acquired by Mansi Bagla of Mini Films and ace photographer Subi Samuel's Bungalow No 84.
The film centers on wanna-be South Asian American rapper, Vinny (Potula), who along with three friends - all of them first-time thieves - plans to rob a grocery store owned by his ex-girlfriend's father, in order to steal her wedding diamonds and disrupt her pending engagement.
The film is a neo-noir crime-drama thriller directed by Vasan Bala, who has earlier made films like 'Peddlers' and 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota', and has served as Anurag Kashyap's associate on his films in the past. The team of 'Monica, O My Darling' joined Films Day and spoke to the audience about working together, the unique genre and what went behind the making of the film.
